How to improve your weighing accuracy and comply with the changing requirements in highly regulated areas

In the first part the presentation gives an overview on best weighing practices and describe factors influencing the weighing result. Balance intrinsic factors such as repeatability, linearity, eccentric load, calibration & adjustment, environmental influences such as climate, leveling, vibrations and influences coming from the operator and samples as magnetism, electric charges and air buoyancy effects are discussed in detail. Possible effects on the weighing result and preventive measures are presented. The second part of the presentation highlights important news for the pharmaceutical industry. The new Chapter 2.1.7 of the European Pharmacopeia is compared with USP Chapter 41 and 1251 and the differences are highlighted. Finally, recent modification of the Cubis II software solutions Minimum weight ensuring compliance to the new Chapter 2.1.7 are discussed.
